Wanna go help them?

Me, Sahil, and John were eating in the Burger King on Bailey when Sahil saw a van of some local band. They were in line at the traffic light, but when the light turned green the van didn’t budge. Eventually the driver and, as we later found out, his girlfriend stepped out. We saw them attempt and fail at pushing the three-and-a-half ton hunk of metal uphill, so I suddenly asked Sahil and John, “Wanna go help them?” So we did.

We ran to the sidewalk, asked them if they needed help, and started pushing. He was planning on making a U-turn so we had to wait until the light turned green until we started pushing again. We blocked the street and hit a telephone pole at five miles an hour, but eventually we got them rolling down to the gas station.

I felt really good after that. It felt like those stories where you hear people realize what they want to do in life after some event occurs. I’m just glad they said thanks because it seems like no one in this world has manners anymore.
